Dayton T. Brown, Jr.

Chairman and Chief Executive

Dayton T. Brown, Jr. has been working at Dayton T. Brown, Inc. since 1951, shortly after his father, Dayton T. Brown, Sr., founded the Company in 1950. In his early career, he held various positions in the Sheet Metal Manufacturing and Engineering & Test Divisions, including Technical and Sales Management. In 1964, he became Vice President and Division Manager of the Manufacturing Division. Mr. Brown transitioned into the role of President in 1969 and became Chairman of the Board of Directors in 1978, upon his father’s passing. Mr. Brown currently serves as Chairman and Chief Executive and is responsible for the overall operations of the Company – a role that he has held for almost 45 years.


Jim Kelly
President

Jim Kelly began his relationship with Dayton T. Brown, Inc. in 1983 on a part-time basis in the Manufacturing Division while he was still attending college. After graduating, he spent the first part of his career in various sales and marketing roles for software companies, such as SBA Technologies, Quality Environmental, and Appgen Business Software. Mr. Kelly returned to the Company in 2008 as a Business Development Manager in the Technical Services Division.

Soon after, he became the Vice President of Sales in the Technical Services Division, followed by Senior Vice President of Corporate Sales and Marketing, and then Senior Vice President of the Technical Services Division. He then served as Executive Vice President of the Corporation until his promotion to President . He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Dowling College. His specialties include technical services, operations, sales, and marketing. He is also a member of the Board of Directors of the Corporation.


Robert Single
Senior Vice President, Secretary, and General Counsel

Bob Single began his career with Dayton T. Brown, Inc. in 1979 as the Human Resources Assistant. From there, he took on many roles throughout the organization, including Director of Purchasing, Personnel, and Corporate Services, Vice President and Secretary, and Division Manager for each division of the Company at various times over the years. He currently serves as Senior Vice President, Secretary, and General Counsel.

After serving three years in the Army, Mr. Single earned a Bachelor’s degree in History from SUNY Stony Brook University, a Master’s degree in Industrial and Labor Relations from NYIT, and a Juris Doctor from SUNY Buffalo. Mr. Single specializes in contracts, legal matters, security, corporate safety procedures, and import/export regulations.


Angela Chewning
Senior Vice President, Human Resources

Angela began her career with Dayton T. Brown, Inc. in 1981 as the Benefits Administrator. Throughout her tenure, she held many roles in the Human Resources Department, including Benefits Administrator, Human Resources Assistant, Employment Manager, and Human Resources Manager. She was named Vice President and Director of Human Resources in 1997.

She currently serves as Senior Vice President of Human Resources. Ms. Chewning earned a BA degree in Business Administration from Dowling College. She holds a New York State Advanced Certificate in Labor/Management Studies, and a Master’s degree in Industrial and Labor Relations from State University of New York at Stony Brook. She is also Vice Chairman of the Suffolk County Workforce Investment Board. Her focuses are high-level recruiting for very specialized technical and management roles, employee relations, human resources law, benefits, and compensation. Angela is passionate about employee involvement and dedicated to change and improvement here at DTB.


Nelson Cubano
Senior Vice President,
Technical Services Division

Nelson Cubano began his employment with Dayton T. Brown, Inc. in 2006 as a Technical Writer in the Technical Services Division. Since then, he has taken on many roles, including Project Manager, Technical Writing Supervisor, Department Manager, Shelton Operations Manager, and Director of Programs.

Mr. Cubano served in the Air Force as an Auxiliary Power Unit Maintenance Mechanic, a Jet Engine Intermediate Mechanic, and ultimately, a Propulsion Section Manager at Dover Air Force Base. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Professional Aeronautics from Wilmington College, as well as his Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification. He specializes in technical services, operations and organizational management, and customer service.


William Bradshaw
Senior Vice President, Division Manager Mission Systems,
& Chief Engineer

Bill Bradshaw began his employment with Dayton T. Brown, Inc. in 1997 as a Structural Engineer in the Engineering & Test Division after working several years in the same capacity with Northrop Grumman. He later went on to become the Structural Engineering Supervisor, Design Manager, and Engineering Manager.

Mr. Bradshaw currently serves as Vice President and Chief Engineer of the Engineering Test Division. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from Bucknell University and a Master’s degree in Applied Mechanics from Polytechnic University. Mr. Bradshaw also has his NYS PE license. His areas of specialty include stress and structural analysis, along with static and fatigue testing.


Thomas Wenzler
Vice President, Technical Services Division

Tom Wenzler began his career with Dayton T. Brown, Inc. in 1988 as a Program Manager in the Technical Services Division. He later went on to pursue other roles, such as Engineering Writing Manager and Senior Vice President and Division Manager of the Technical Services Division.

Mr. Wenzler currently serves as Vice President for the Technical Services Division. He has a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and a Master’s degree in Management, both from the Polytechnic Institute of Brooklyn. Mr. Wenzler specializes in technical writing and logistics services and focuses on the estimating, operational, and financial aspects of the Technical Services Division.

Kristian Norheim
Vice President, E&T Division

Kristian recently joined the DTB team as Vice President for the Engineering & Test Division. His passion for aerospace began when he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps as an AV-8B electrical/avionics technician. His entire professional career has been spent in various sectors of aerospace including corporate aviation, airframe and avionics modification, component repair and overhaul, and OEM parts manufacturing and distribution.

For the last decade, Kristian coupled his experience as a maintenance technician with management and business acumen to lead sales and business development teams in the aerospace market. He earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Aviation Management from Dowling College.

Bill Courbanou
Vice President & Chief Financial Officer

Bill joined DTB in 1988 as Assistant Controller and later that year became Controller for the company. His previous work with Arthur Young and Company, American Express, and The Greater New York Savings Bank proved beneficial and led to his promotion to Director of Information in 1995. In his tenure, Bill has spearheaded many projects including the origination of Athena, the recent migration to ADP for Payroll and HR, and the replacement of Athena with Deltek.

Mr. Courbanou currently serves as Vice President & Chief Financial Officer for DTB. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Syracuse University School of Management and he is a Certified Public Accountant.

Caitlin O’Neill
Vice President, Procurement

Caitlin joined DTB in 2020 at our PAX River, Maryland site as Procurement Manager. Caitlin’s expertise and experience was quickly recognized, and she was promoted to Director of Procurement in August of 2021. That experience was garnered as Procurement Manager at General Dynamics Information Technology, through a deployment in Iraq at IAP Worldwide Services, and in purchasing positions at BAE and R4 Inc.

She currently serves as Vice President of Procurement. Caitlin holds an MBA from Westwood College in Denver Colorado and a BA Degree in Political Science from East Stroudsburg University. Caitlin’s attention to detail and focus on quality has been instrumental in audit support and her willingness to go above and beyond to make our customers happy has proven invaluable.


Ivette Cálix Damish
Vice President, Business Development,
Technical Services Division

Ivette Cálix Damish began her employment with Dayton T. Brown, Inc. in 2012 as a Business Development Executive in the Technical Services Division. She has worked tirelessly building the book of business for the Division and was promoted to Director of Business Development and now to Vice President.

Ivette came to us from Dimension4 where she held the position of Vice President Business Development and oversaw business development activities, program management and contract fulfillment. She moved through the ranks there starting as a CAD Operator, to Customer Support Manager, and Technical Support Manager before being named a Vice President. Ivette holds a Bachelor of Environmental Design degree with an emphasis in Architecture from Texas A&M University.

Don Patterson
Vice President,
Mission Systems Division

Don joined DTB in June of 2019 as a Program Manager at our PAX River, Maryland facility. Before joining DTB, Don served our country for 35 years in the U.S. Navy as a Commander with the distinguished accomplishment of having moved up the ranks starting as an Airman. He ended his military career at NAS PAX River serving as the Naval Test Wing Atlantic Aircraft Maintenance Officer overseeing the sustainment and maintenance activities of the three test squadrons and Test Pilot School. After retiring from the Navy Don worked at several government contractors as an Avionics Engineer, Systems Engineer, Senior Systems Engineer, and Program Manager before joining DTB. In January of 2020, he became a Manager in our Test Systems Division, with oversight of the fabrication and integration of our mobile communication SCIFs for the military.

He currently serves as Vice President of the Mission Systems Division with oversight of our PAX River facilities and operations. Don holds a BS degree in Aeronautics from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.
