Dayton T. Brown, Inc. (DTB) proudly supports Calvert County Watermen’s Association in Solomons, MD, through our sponsorship of their Annual Watermen’s Festival and Boat Docking Competition on September 17, 2023. During the event, crowds piled in and around the bleachers at the Watermen’s Wharf on Solomons Island, MD, to celebrate. With 21 work boats participating, it was a race to see who could dock and tie their boat the quickest. Local food and beverage vendors were on hand to serve BBQ and locally caught seafood from these very watermen. Kids of all ages were able to participate in their own contests on land to see who could throw the buoy and anchor the farthest. This fun and exciting event was hugely successful and highlights the efforts of the local watermen who provide for the community!

The Calvert County Watermen’s Association is a non-profit organization that supports watermen dealing with unexpected hardships, provides community scholarships, and supplies funding to the Rescue Squad, Fire Department, Maryland Watermen’s Association Marine Museum, and the Navy Junior Officer Training Program.

Local sponsorships serve the communities in which we live and work. This effort supports our core value of acting with the future in mind, whereby through purposeful investments, employee engagement, and thoughtful advocacy, we build better communities.
