BOHEMIA, NY - Dayton T. Brown was recently awarded a $1.8 million contract from the United States Air Force to deliver a LE 6000R Hydraulic Test Stand and CP/S-6250 Remote Hydraulic Power Supply. The test stand and power supply are expected to be installed in 2017 at Barksdale Air Force Base in Louisiana, subject to facility readiness and availability.
The LE 6000R is a general purpose stand that consists of both a Test Console and an Operator Console. When coupled with a DTB CP/S-6250 Remote Hydraulic Power Supply, the test system provides all test circuitry and instrumentation to conduct a wide variety of tests and evaluations on aircraft hydraulic and electro-hydraulic components. The three main test circuits of the test system are functionally and physically isolated from the other circuits and are operated independently. Measured quantities, such as fluid pressure, flow rates, and temperature, are scaled and transmitted from the Integrated Data Acquisition and Control System (IDACS) to the test stand’s Central Processing Unit (CPU). A leakage circuit is provided as a flow transducer, which can be located in the test bed/sink area. An external source of gaseous nitrogen is provided just outside of the test bed/sink area.
“This is a great opportunity to provide much needed test equipment for the Air Force,” said Stephen Marini, Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. “While our Test Systems business is not as vibrant as it once was, we still provide the most reliable and durable test stands in the industry. The stands that DTB delivered 30 years ago are still relied upon daily, and we expect the same to be said for this stand 30 years from now.”
Several DTB LE 6000Rs are currently operating at Tinker Air Force Base in Oklahoma, Hill Air Force Base in Utah, and Corpus Christi Army Depot in Texas. The LE 6000R is one of several test stands that Dayton T. Brown designs and fabricates today. Other test stands offered include automated hydraulic pump and motor test stands, general purpose component test stands, automated calibration test systems, fuel component test stands, and gear box test stands.
