HOLLYWOOD, MD - Dayton T. Brown has been awarded a five-year, $486 million IDIQ (indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity) contract from the US Navy. Officially termed the “ASPD/AIRWorks Multiple Award Contract (Lot II),” it places the Company as a prime contractor with five other competitors in the small business portion of the contract.
“We’re particularly proud of this opportunity and the effort required to win it,” said Tom Zimoulis, Senior Vice President of the Engineering and Test Division at DTB. “Dayton T. Brown excels at technical challenges, and with the diverse requirements expected in this contract, we will have many opportunities to put these skills on full display.”
This contract is similar in scope and structure to the Aircraft Prototype Facility IDIQ contract that Dayton T. Brown won in 2011, which is nearing completion. DTB is one of the few independent engineering and testing organizations nationwide to meet the stringent requirements imposed by the Navy to be considered, such as compliance with AS9100C, which was a prerequisite for this bid.
The work is for the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division’s Aircraft Prototype Systems Division (APSD) and includes prototype air vehicle modification, mission systems, aircraft stores and support equipment designs, build-to-print technical data packages, kits, and installed systems for test and evaluation of new systems and capabilities, as well as fleet introduction. Task orders are expected to be executed out of DTB’s Hollywood, MD location, with engineering and procurement support from Bohemia, NY, as required.
“Winning this contract should allow us to continue to grow our presence in the Patuxent River area, as well as the staffing at our Hollywood, MD office in the coming years,” said Stephen Marini, Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. “This is really a big win for the Company, and we look forward to competing for these task orders in the future.”
In addition to the Lot II award as prime, DTB is also a subcontractor on BAE System’s Lot I, large business award.
