Railroad Testing Services for the Transit Market

So how do you supply railroad testing services for a ten-car train that is over 600 feet long, weighs over one million pounds, requires 6000 amps at 600 Vdc to operate, and is moving at 50 mph? By assembling a team of engineers from several disciplines within our lab, Dayton T. Brown, Inc. has developed the instrumentation, methods, and expertise to perform EMC acceptance testing of the newest technology subway cars.

For example, when the New York City Transit (NYCT) placed into service the “New-Technology” subway cars, Dayton T. Brown, Inc. successfully performed the EMC acceptance testing for each new train model.

Test Facilities

On-site vibration surveys have been successfully completed by identifying and reproducing the field levels in the test lab to simulate real world environments. Large chambers which accommodate multiple systems simultaneously improve scheduling translate into a very cost effective approach.

Dayton T. Brown is known world-wide for excellence in engineering and testing services for the development and ultimate approval and acceptance of Rail and Transit products.
